Precept Upon Precept...

I'm not really here today. Can't you tell? Actually, I'm at a Precept Bible Study Training Course for leaders. If you've never tried a Precept Bible Study, I highly recommend it!

Precept Bible Studies use the inductive method for learning God's Word.

What Is Inductive Bible Study?

Observation, Interpretation, Application. Precept's method uses an investigative approach that takes each person to the text directly. If you can read a newspaper, you can study the Bible.

  3. Sounds intriging!

I have found a good way to study the Bible is to listen to it played out loud while working in the kitchen or painting. I can listen to the same chapter over and over again until it really sinks in. Favourite passages get played constantly.

  5. Inductive Bible Study is a very useful skill to develope! It really helps you learn to study the Scriptures in depth FOR YOURSELF. The only thing better is understanding the orginal Hebrew Text! It really opened the door to us learning the context of the Scriptures and encourages us to dig deeper and skills you will use all your life in study! Here is a link that could jump start your readers on the inductive study right away. (They can do it free from home if classes an option for them in this season.) http://www.godsquad.com/discipleship/inductive.htm

Kay Arthur also wrote a GREAT book to guide you through the method very efficiantly. It is what we used when we first started about 8 years ago. Learning how to study the Bible effectivly opened our eyes to so much in the Scriptures! It is a BEAUTIFUL THING. Teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime!

I am not familiar with this specific course...but I speak very highly in the method of inductive study! I hope others will check it out!

  6. I took a precept study by Kay Arthur a long time ago. At the time it was way over my head and complicated so I didn't finish. I think know I could be ready for one.
