Today I'm so honored to be sharing a guest post at Like A Bubbling Brook. Jaime has a lovely blog where she writes on topics ranging from Biblical womanhood to eating whole foods! For my part, I'm sharing on one of my favorite topics... Should A Christian Practice Food Storage?Won't you join me there for the day?

I'll have to go read but I would think the answer would be a resounding yes. Hope I'm correct!
ReplyDeleteI've always wondered why such controversy over storing foods. Its only been in the last 50-60 years that people started relying on grocery stores. Great Post! - Abby Jo
ReplyDeleteI'm with Abby...this should be a non-issue. Storing food makes you no less reliant on God than does owning a life insurance policy, homeowners insurance or a 401k.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, some of the doomsday rhetoric of some homesteading/off griding folks is a bit off putting and scary for an suburbanite like me. So thank you for a very balanced perspective. But even a suburbanite like me can appreciate knowing where our food comes from, getting our hands dirty while praising the creator. Finally even this suburbanite has enough sense to make the hefty water bill pay for a few groceries rather than just a lawn :)
ReplyDeleteHere's some "food" for thought: if for any reason (and we ARE just contemplating the possibilities here) a "situation" happened the trucks didn't roll in to the stores... even for a short time... the shelves would be emptied in only 2 days. We live in a place where winter storms cause quite a rush on the stores, so we've seem a little of this already. Are we ready to dig a bomb shelter?-- nope. Do we keep food storage in case of an emergency?-- even if it's a job layoff?-- you bet!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to find you through Jaime at LABB. What a wonderful, insightful and biblical post! I truly enjoyed reading it and have posted the link on my FB page. I hope we can be friends! So wonderful to meet another like-minded beautiful Christian sister! Love in Christ, Kelly
