• Bought a 5 gallon water cooler and a 6 gallon emergency water container
• Got my conduit hoops made for my low tunnels in my garden (post to follow with photos - soon!)
• Started preparations for my fall and winter garden
Most of you probably started school this week unless you homeschool (I always wait til after Labor Day so I can soak up every bit of summer!). So how did prepping go with your schedule change?
(Due to my internet reception while camping, comments may not post for a couple of days; however, the Linky should work just fine.)
Join the Challenge
To join the Preparedness Challenge, just write a post on something you did this week to prepare and then link up below or leave a comment. Even one thing a week adds up and it will encourage you to do even more! And by participating in the challenge, it will get you thinking about prepping on a regular basis.
Please only post on preparedness topics. And be sure to take the Preparedness Challenge picture and add it to your blog so others know you're participating and hopefully they'll join up, too!
Please be respectful of our topic and only add a post that is preparedness related in order to retain the integrity of the link up event. THANK YOU!!

I received my order of 25 baby chicks and 25 baby guineas on Thursday. I bought three new waterers and a new feeder for the poultry house. We will be separating them later on and eventually putting the pullets in with the present adult ones and the guineas in another building. The guineas will be big enough to fight the grasshoppers next spring and summer. We have countless numbers of them that kill everything in sight. They have killed every fruit tree we have ever planted. Guineas are great for that, plus, they were on sale!
ReplyDeleteMy purple hull peas, brown crowder peas, Thorogreen limas, yellow summer squash, and butternut squash all started coming up this week, with the help of soaker hoses. I'm still waiting on the green beans and Fordhook 242 lima beans. It is still over 100 degrees every day here in Central Texas...today is the 61st day this year.
I just found you today and really appreciate your blog content. The pictures are beautiful too.
ReplyDeletePreparedness? Oh, yeah! Irene visited us last night... you know her, right? She's been all the rage on The Weather Channel lately. Sssoooo glad we had yummy things canned in the pantry and lots of water stored and all of our battery-operated lights and radio ready to go!
ReplyDeleteWe have been freezing beans and canning tomatoes all week. We will be doing the same this next week and making finally preparation to begin homeschooling the following week.
ReplyDeleteI purchased 2 extra gallons of honey from my favorite local honey company. Boy, it's gone up since March! My dh wondered where the gold was that I bought. Yeah, sweet liquid gold!
