Older women likewise are to be
reverent in their behavior,
not malicious gossips
nor enslaved to much wine,
teaching what is good,

so that they may encourage the young women
to love their husbands,
to love their children,
to be sensible,
pure,
workers at home,
kind,
being subject to their own husbands,
so that the word of God
will not be dishonored.
~Titus 2: 3-5

Amy, I love this section of Scripture! As I grow older, I must remember with thanksgiving those spiritual mothers that guided me... and pray to emulate their example to the young women I now know.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and such a great reminder.

What a joy it is...to come alongside a younger girl...and share the love of the Lord with her....just by doing everyday common things.
ReplyDeleteBoth are blessed by this.
Have a blessed week,
Laura

Nice to hear something positive about age. Call me crazy, but I love getting older.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome post! I LOVE being a housewife and making a homestead! Thanks for the scripture verse! What a great reminder!
ReplyDeleteSuch a blessed reminder! Thank you for posting. These virtues are so important on a day to day basis. I think this is one to be printed and placed in an area for a visual daily encouragement.
ReplyDeleteThanks for pointing this verse out. It reminds me of the blessing that I've been given to be home with my little ones, and the reminder that I should be these things to them and the other women around me. Always.
ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT blog!!! I can see why a friend of mine reads it. I will be following & reading as much as possible. Your blog fits right in with the homesteading journey my husband & I have been dreaming of (and newly living) for 20 years.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is just wonderful, and I LOVE todays post! Thank you for the encouragement! Many blessings to you today from a new follower! :-)
ReplyDeleteWonderful guiding words today Amy!
ReplyDeleteAs I get older I grow more content each day that I am the keeper of my home. Life is calmer, fuller and blessed!
Looking forward to the hop today!
Deb~
I see lots of practical applications to this passage of scripture things that would help the world be a much brighter place if women would just apply it to their lives especially this part:
ReplyDeleteso that the word of God
will not be dishonored.
Thanks for posting it. Maybe a younger woman somewhere will receive that word into her heart today. I know an older woman that did! (smile)
Hello Amy
